Lunch with the Gopaloodoo family

We were honoured to be invited to lunch with the Gopaloodoo family, who live in St Pierre. Jayanti Gopaladoo worked for Mike in his Mauritian office, and has recently married Ashley who she has known since childhood. We have cracked the nod for their huge wedding bash on Saturday, which we are all very excited about- our first Indian wedding and I get to take photos!  Sunday lunch the week before before was a lovely way to meet the family before the big day. As is the custom, Jayanti  still lives with her parents, her father  is a priest, and is well known in their community as he owns a puja shop (religious artefacts.)  The happy couple will be heading over to Paris (where Ashley lives) after the weekend celebrations. Despite initial nerves- (will the kids behave? will I remember to eat with the correct hand? will the kittens wake up and pooh on the carpet? ) we had a really lovely afternoon with Jayanti's family. In particular is was lovely to see how James and Jayanti's nephew played so wonderfully together- neither speaking each others language, rather speaking the International Boy Language of Angry birds video games....After lunch Jayanti showed me and Lovisa (works for Mike)and Helena (Lovisa's friend) all her magnificent wedding sari's.....sigh. So much magnificence!
